Elizabeth Gates
Hi, I’m Liz! I have over 12 years of experience working in diverse roles in mental health, addictions, and human service programs. My passion is for providing a warm and welcoming environment to help others through their own personal exploration and growth.

I have a Master's degree in counseling and am licensed to provide therapy services. I am also nationally certified in mental health and addictions.

I’ve enjoyed living in the Chattanooga and Hixson area since 2004 and in my free time I enjoy reading, playing games, and watching Netflix!

Therapy, which is also called psychotherapy or counseling, is the process of meeting with a professional to assess and/or treat a mental health or wellness related problem or issue.

Beginning therapy is a big decision! And it can be an anxiety-provoking experience at first. But at their core, therapy sessions should provide a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental environment in which someone can identify and explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Although there is no way to guarantee a person's experiences while participating in therapy, an ethical therapist should be able to listen with care, model healthy interactions, provide related educational information, and to give appropriate support and feedback.
